Miss Kim Rub says:
I've only been a professional dominatrix for seven years, but the story didn't start then. The story started 35 years ago. In fact, probably 37 years ago when I was in San Francisco visiting a friend. We went south of markets, saw two transvestites going into a bar and followed them. One of them was a professional dominatrix, full-time dominatrix, full-time trans.
Her name was Mistress Kay. My friend stayed friends with her for many years and when she was coming over to London two years later, she called me and she said, "Would you like to go to a little S&M club with us?"
And I thought, "What the hell is that?"
Of course there was no internet 35 years ago and I had no clue what it was. It wasn't in the Encyclopaedia Britannica, but I thought, let me do it. So I went.
that was how it all started 35 years ago. I went to my first club, club submission and loved it. there's been between now and going back 35 years, a hell of a lot.
If you'd like to read about it in chronological order, it's on mistressworkshop.com in my story. You can see each individual thing that I've done as the years have progressed, which has been quite a lot I have to tell you.
I've been on the scene for 35 years, but a professional dominatrix for only seven. I think my passion and love of this particular industry has been what has made me want to stick around, made me want to learn more, made me want to be a very big part of it. Yes, a long time.

My Queen Bee event called the Queen Bee Society Drinks is four times a year. It's free. I invite all of the ladies on the UK BDSM professional dominatrix, anyone interested who's female is allowed to come. It's just a drinks gathering. I've just had one in September 2023 and 35 ladies came along.
Yes, we do have rather a lot of dominatrix in the UK a lot. It was fabulous, the next ones in November. Generally, it'll be March and then May, September and November. So there's a Twitter page if you'd like to have a look. So I'd love you to come.
But not you boys.

Miss Kim Rub says:
As previously mentioned, I have a mistress workshop, mistressworkshop.com, that has been running for 12 years now and I have a monthly gathering of ladies and the only time I didn't was during the plague but I also do one-to-ones so I can do the group workshop or a one-to-one any day of the week and I also have about seven or eight specialist workshops.
Anything from anal play and pegging, impact play, wax play, needle play, CBT, bondage and most importantly social media marketing because my social media totals 190k and that can be seen on my misskimlinktree.com so if anybody's interested in a little specialist workshop or for the beginners. Start at the begginging and learn it properly, rather than going to the school of twitter and learn from a two second clip of film what not to do.

Miss Kim Rub says:
As previously mentioned, we have a lot of professional Doms in the UK, in particular London.
What will make you stand out from the rest is taking a workshop and taking lots of workshops and learning as much as you can because having skills is the way to stand out from the crowd.
You might think it's just about having a pretty face and a slim figure, however knowing what you're doing and caring about what you're doing go a long way and a lot of people appreciate those that have taken the time and trouble to learn and perhaps take a first aid course to learn the health and safety surrounded in this industry is really really important and I actively encourage the ladies to do that.
In fact, in the summer 2023 I had a free health and safety workshop for all those that were actually interested in being safe, sane and consensual.

Miss Kim Rub says:
I started Rubber Cult 11 years ago and at the time when I started it, there was nothing else in the world that was a rubber only, latex only event. Obviously since then, there's virtually one in every single country, in every major city. So, I've started the trend and rather than make it into another nightclub situation where you go out late and you dance into the night, I decided to make it more of a social gathering, have a stage shows, we had art exhibitions, there was lots of things you could try.
We had rubber strait jackets that you could try, vac beds, body bags, etc, etc. It really was a little bit ground breaking, so much so that I won best new event at the Berlin Fetish Weekend.
Rubber Cult is still in operation. It's only twice a year now instead of four times a year and it is at the most spectacular venue in London, Simon Drake's House of Magic. My friend Simon Drake is a magician and his establishment is extraordinary and that's where we hold Rubber Cult.
Usually in April and in October, although it's a movable feast, so it could be at any time, but we kind of are probably sticking on those two dates. It's only for rubberists, only for people wearing full latex, so if that's something you're interested in, rubber-cult.com for the aficionado and the rubber fetishist.

Miss Kim Rub says:
I've been in the scene so long now, I can't ever imagine leaving it. I don't see a day when I retire. I don't see a day when I give it all up. I think I will carry on until I drop. I absolutely love it. There are so many aspects of it that I find enjoyable and have a passion for. I absolutely love teaching and passing on my knowledge to other mistresses, whether they're beginners, intermediates.
I do still get ladies who are well-versed in all of the BDSM practices because we all learn something new all the time and that is probably my biggest joy. Deep diving into a subject and getting the most out of it and passing that on to the mistresses that come to learn from me.
Things that I really enjoy would be I like predicament bondage, bondage, cock and ball play, latex rubber play, sensory deprivation, sensual play and I just love sissy play. It's probably easiest to say what I don't like, which I won't say because I think even some of the aspects that I don't like.
I can enjoy them if everything, if all the little soldiers are all in line, then I can absolutely enjoy it, but everything has to be right in certain aspects.

I'm a very very very active blogger,my website misskimrub.com has a blog and I add a blog virtually every week so you'll find 50 blogs a year. I think it's a great way to connect with a prospective client they get to know a little bit more about you they can see here and look at things that you're interested in. For me is a good way to find prospective clients.
Social media is another way that you can find new clients. As I've got such a very large social media reach because I teach it then I find that that usually works for me as well. Coupled together the blog with the social media work for me. I am on the mistress directory websites but I find that my blog is the main source. It's something that gentlemen are always telling me and I read your blog I've read all of your blogs so that does work for me.

Miss Kim Rub says:
Since I've become a professional dominatrix, I've always worked from my own establishment. It used to be on the top floor, but during Covid, my neighbour on the ground floor, who had a recording studio in the back of the house, he passed away due to Covid. That gave me the opportunity to take the room that he used for his recording studio.
It's just a little bit fabulous as it's soundproofed and turn it into rather fabulous Central London, E2, Shoreditch, Hoxton, Dungeon. I don't rent it out to other ladies. However, I do have a content filming day. So, you get me taking the photographs, pressing the button to the film camera, moving the furniture, passing you various implements. It's only £200, which is a bargain for an eight-hour day but the rest of the time, I'm there doing my own sessions, and I also use it for my workshops.
I've just recently had a bondage and a CBT workshop, and it just works perfectly for me. It's multi-use, I have lots of chairs for the ladies who come along,
It's opened up a bigger world of opportunities for me in the two years, yes, that I've had it.

Miss Kim Rub says:
The scene has changed so much in the last three and a half decades. I think the major thing has been the internet really. There was a time when you couldn't see an image of BDSM or fetish. You had to buy a book and wait for a magazine to come out, go to a sex shop. In London we had phone booths that had cards in them for all of the ladies to advertise themselves.
You'd go to a phone box and pick up one of the cards in the phone boxes to see what ladies were available in central London. There were little fanzines, little A5 for Dominitrix. There would be Exchange and Mart, which was more like a gentleman's kind of cars, gadgets kind of magazine that they had back page advertisements.
Where else could you go and see? Well I made friends with Trevor Watson, a fetish photographer. I probably stalked him and made friends and he was such a prolific photographer that I would occasionally say "Oh, shall I pop over?" And that's when I would get to view all of the latest photography that he'd done.
That was another way that I got my fix of fetish imagery before the internet arrived. That's pre-internet because that was another way that you could actually see people in BDSM fetish gear, attire practices, by going out and being with them.
Of course as soon as the internet came along you just sat in your chair and looked at a screen, which people find it difficult to believe that the scene was much bigger pre-internet and it really was. Skin 2 used to have an annual rubber ball pre-internet that used to get 4,000 people to it on a Monday night, which is quite ridiculous really if you think about it. You couldn't go there in normal clothes, absolutely every 4,000 people that were in there had to be wearing fetish attire. It's hard to believe that the scene has, some people would say the good old days. I would say every day is good and life evolves and changes and it's up to you to make the best out of it and to enjoy what it has to offer at this precise moment in time of which I do.

Well, I'm very fortunate that I have arrived at this stage in life where I have most things. I work because I choose to, because I really enjoy it. I don't have to. I don't want to retire. Definitely not. I'm probably going to do more and more workshop type work. I also want to do more real time sessions. I don't find content making very fulfilling.
I'm probably going to travel more, but travel as in enjoy myself and not travel and work at the same time. I have some travelling coming up soon. I'm taking the Queen Bee Society to Paris, Dublin and New York.
I have a house in Spain. I shall probably go there a little tiny bit more often. However, Spain isn't London and I absolutely love and adore London and all that it has to offer. I'm going to the Hunterian Museum tomorrow, which is a museum of surgeons so I'm looking forward to that.
I'd like to do and go out regularly in London, afternoon tea, meals, the theatre. I'm going to the ballet at Christmas, etc. Just enjoy life to the full really. Well, I can, I don't mean I'm on my way out, the period in front is shorter than what I can see behind me.

A few last things. I'm archived in the Bishopsgate Institute Library and Archive. It's quite the place in London. It will never not be there, so in 500 yearstime, my archive, my Club Rub archive, will still be there and it's available for anybody walk in and to ask to view. You don't have tobecome a member of the Library, you justliterally walk in and say, please may Isee the Club Rub archive. I wasthrilled when I got asked to be the very first Fetish contributor. There's since been quite a few more and I think it was fitting as I've probablybeen around the longest to be quite honest with you.
I also have MissKim's newsletter which probably stands at about 700 subscribers. It comes out on the first of the month so ifyou all hurry you'll get the next one. Ihave a podcast which I've been storingup episodes to gradually eke them out bit by bit but that's something I'mactively working on at the moment.
If youwant to find out any of the details about any of the things I've talkedabout, misskimlinktree.com has virtuallyeverything on it. There's even a buttonyou can press that goes straight to my blogs, a button that goes straight to my latex repair workshop, a button that goes to my mistressworkshop, a button that goes to myeverything.
Even if you'd like tobuy me a coffee. It's been lovely chatting with you. I've thoroughly enjoyed myself and please feel free tomessage me if you'd like me on your podcast or you'd like to interview me for yourmagazine because I love nothing more. Have a lovely day darlings.
